I will admit that boy layouts are the hardest for me to create. I can never seem to get away from flowers, frilly things, and glitter. It was a nice change to make a mess and drip paint.
The Off the Wall Collection from Kaistercraft is a very playful and masculine line. The grungy papers just scream boy! I even knocked the dust off of the sewing machine to add more grunge to this sketchy layout. Before one stitch was added to the paper I loosely sketched where I wanted the stitches to be. The pencil sketch then became a guide for me to use while sewing.
For an added touch of grunge I printed the photo of my son on matte cardstock, rather than glossy photo paper. This was a new experience for me. I am still not sure that I like the outcome of the photo, but I feel like it does fit well with the overall grungy feel of the layout.
